In this episode, we show you how to build a 1.2 kilowatt hour DIY portable power station using parts roughly around $550. Most of these parts can be had for less if you substitute certain parts in and out and you can customize this station to meet your needs. For example, my initial designs originally included a charge controller, but then after realizing I will never really charge this in the wild using solar we decided to remove that charge controller. Version two included, connecting the battery and inverter using Anderson SB 50 connectors, but then I also realize I would really never swap out the batteries that often or ever to even need having that. You can also customize power station with lower wattage, inverters and lower capacity batteries to be more portable or light, which makes this a very, useful customizable power station. Tailor it to meet your needs. This design allows you to not be locked into anyone ecosystem also gives you the ability to monitor your power station using Bluetooth apps.
